Author Guidelines

Author Submission Guidelines

  •  All papers should be uploaded via the system (Click on submit and create an account)
  • Abstracts alone will not be considered and must be accompanied by the paper. The abstract should be between 150-250 words.
  • A research paper needs to address and provide reviewers with an understanding of the results and findings to date. To be considered for review, a research paper should follow the guidelines for writing research papers.
  • If your submission is a non-research, practice-based paper, then follow the guidelines for writing up your practice based submission for it to be considered for review.
  • References: Begin the reference list on a separate page. The Journal of Research in Open, Distance and eLearning uses the APA referencing style, details of which can be downloaded from no other style will be permitted.

  • All papers will be peer reviewed by at least two experienced scholars. To help us ensure a blind review, we request that you do not include any identifying information on the actual body of the paper; this should be limited to the cover page. On the cover page, include:
  • The author(s) name, institutional affiliation and email address.
  • Provide five keyword descriptors (to help in indexing).

JRODeL uses iThenticate to screen for plagiarism before publication. The iThenticate software checks submissions against millions of published scholarly works, and billions of web content.
